T Cross
Mr. Troy Cross has more than 14 years of experience in the health industry. His love of figures took him to a career change mid life and he is studying accounting at Baker College where he is currently acing all his classes and looking for additional challenges. Troy has a love of auditing and governmental accounting. After earning his college degree in accounting, Troy hopes to obtain establish an accounting business serving the needs of local businesses in his area.

Cardiac Surgery Analyst with the University of Michigan Health Systems where he was responsible for general office administration including handling phone inquiries, reconciling approximately 30 major accounts, using Excel to prepare yearly and ad hoc budget reports, creating purchase orders, timekeeping and payroll; M-Pathways experience; creating requisitions, non-PO vouchers, equipment maintenance POs, P-Card use and monthly reconciliation.
Cardiac Surgery Clinic Supervisor with the University of Michigan Health Systems where he was responsible for all of the duties shown below as well as acting as the supervisor for a staff of three, clinical support as needed, section liaison for the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Cardiac surgery, section representative on Cardiovascular Call Center activation and Cardiovascular Center activation work groups.
Troy was the den leader for Elementary School Cub Scouts. In this capacity he corralled 5, 6 and 7 year olds into the enjoyment of many outside activities.
Troy is currently working as a summer intern for Accounting Advantage where he is further honing your accounting and bookkeeping skies.
Troy has passed his QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification examination and is currently supporting 2 Accounting Advantage clients.
Detailed Qualifications
Overview
Mr. Cross began his career as a Medical Records Clerk and was promoted to a Health Record Analyst. His medical records career then took him to a database specialist with the Cardiac Surgery unit. At this point, he moved to a administrative assistant and then was promoted to a clinical supervisory position.
After 12 years, Troy’s love of numbers took him back to school and into the accounting program at Baker College where he will graduate at the end of June 2011.
Mr. Cross joined the QuickBooks ProAdvisor program in March and completed his ProAdvisor certification shortly thereafter.
Mr. Cross’ desire to “get the accounting right” and easy ability with people make him a natural addition to the Accounting Advantage team.
