Detailed Qualifications

Overview Ms Soucy began her career at H & R Block, in the regional payroll department.  She went on to a fulfilling appointment at an elder care home.  She used her financial skills at the 400+ resident facility to maintain all building records:  Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.  She assisted residents in applying for SSI benefits and other available state and federal benefits.  She also volunteered to guide residents in budgeting and maintaining their fixed income monthly monies.   Ms. Soucy moved on to a property management firm responsible for high volume shopping malls in multiple states.  She worked initially with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Common Area Maintenance fee analysis and billing, and Real Estate Taxes analysis and billing.  She also performed percent rent calculations, which were components of critical decision tools.   As a side component to this job, Ms. Soucy managed the C.E.O’s personal financial records, allowing him more time to manage the firm.  Next, Ms. Soucy assisted with opening of the first Whole Foods Market in Michigan.  After the opening, Ms. Soucy ran the store finances, spending the most time with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the General Ledger.  She interfaced with all departments and vendors and reported directly to regional accounting offices.  Ms. Soucy was responsible for the training of buyers, assisting in monthly inventories and quarterly financial reviews.   After her career at Whole Foods, Ms. Soucy started her own business, assisting small local business with their bookkeeping needs.  This practice has been ongoing since 2005.


Ameri-serv Group – Accountant for Dexter based vending company with locations in over 5 states.  She maintains accounting records on a Peachtree system, reconciles cash, monitors and processes payables, maintains fixed asset records, and conducts annual physical inventories.  Ms. Soucy also creates annual and monthly budget that are reviewed and approved for use by the management team.  Financial reports are presented monthly, including budget analysis and process improvement ideas.  Interfaces with the tax specialist at year end to maximize tax opportunities.

Northern Caulking – Maintained accounting records on a QuickBooks system for a tiling restoration organization.  Input all financial data, answered accounting and bookkeeping queries as required and presented reports to management on a regular basis.

Hoosier Diamond – Bookkeeper for Indianapolis based youth sports organization.  Eventually trained and transitioned the Peachtree Accounting system and data input to owner.   Assist on an ongoing basis as needed.  Prepared 1099’s on a regular basis.

Other Business and Professional Experience

Ms. Soucy is currently operating a bookkeeping business based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She works with other professionals specializing in accounting and bookkeeping automation.   Ms. Soucy performs all aspects of Peachtree and QuickBooks bookkeeping services for local businesses.  Ms. Soucy also supports QuickBooks and Peachtree systems through installation, trouble shooting and error message resolution.  She also meets with clients, reviews their accounting structure, and strategizes with management teams to get the most out of their systems.

Outside of her office, Ms. Soucy has an intense interest in international travel.   She has visited over 20 different countries including Ireland, England, and Egypt.  She also embroiders and avidly does any and all number puzzles.
